child and adolescent counselling
Supporting children and young people through life’s challenges requires understanding, patience, and a safe space to be heard. Drawing on my background in educational, welfare, and counselling roles, I bring a well-rounded approach to working with children and adolescents—one that respects their individuality while supporting emotional and developmental growth.
Children and young people can face a wide range of difficulties, often without the words or confidence to fully express what they’re feeling. Common issues include anxiety, mood changes, emotional regulation difficulties, school-related stress, behavioural challenges, and low self-esteem.
For adolescents, additional concerns often emerge as they navigate identity, independence, and social pressures. These may include family conflict, peer relationships, friendship breakdowns, and challenges in romantic or intimate relationships.
Counselling provides a supportive environment where young people can explore their feelings, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. My approach is flexible, age-appropriate, and centred on trust, emotional safety, and collaboration—with the young person, and when appropriate, with their family.
Every child and adolescent deserves the chance to be understood, supported, and empowered to find their way forward.
